Have you a business that has stalled it seems to be stuck for some reason that you cannot pin point. Well, try going off by yourself with paper and pencil and asking
“Where did this idea come from? What was my first feeling about it, my original intent?”
Put the answers down fully and exactly and ask yourself are you still aiming for the same thing now? Are you keeping your business in line with your original intention for it?
If the answer is yes but you still feel struck here are some reasons
You are Not Paying Attention
People’s circumstances change and if you do not pay attention, you will get stuck. Your business does not need re-jigging, you may not even need to change the product or even update it. It maybe that the customers you are talking to have moved on.
People move on and maybe the people that liked it have moved on to something else, by virtue of age or other circumstance. You might need to change whom you market to. If you are not keeping up with this your business will stall.
You Are Confusing
Sometimes you start with a certain product and are well known for it and then you stumble onto something that is on trend and stock up on it, neglecting your original product. And then it will happen as it happens, trends change and you are left with a mixed bag of products that will end up confusing your identity and the customer.
It is a good idea to always have a strong identity and make sure that the early impetus you had carries on into the future. Stock that product that created the impetus, the exact thing. When you have difficulty selling go back to that original idea especially if it was a hit.
Do not always jump on the trend wagon and violate an original idea for your business or you might end up letting go of it entirely.
You are not using other channels
Grant it, it is nice to be in one location and to sit and wait for the customer to walk in but, there is no reason for you especially these days to not be selling online. Or to be exploring selling at permitted sidewalks, weekly markets or visiting people in their homes (with some prior arrangement).
Yes, call people and ask to bring them the product. These other channels may not be your major sales, but you will be selling.
