These 2 Moves Will Help Manage Money

The ability to make money is not the same as the ability to keep money and your abilities and those of others are incomparable. Do not immediately assume that earning the same amounts of money or more than another person will magically make you a good money manager.

To be a good money manager, these 2 moves will help

Be reasonable

Be reasonable with your expectations and learn to view your personal goals as different from those of your colleagues, friends or family. Your situation despite you earning the same amount of money is totally different. This doesn’t mean you must settle for less, it means being realistic when it comes to your aspirations, abilities and present situation.

Take a serious look at where you are right now in your career or business journey. Both are dynamic situations and will change overtime. Skipping a step is possible but, rare. Knowing which step you are on is very important and for the moment something you have to learn to live with.

Getting a nice car, living in one of the better parts of a town, and going on local or international holidays will take longer than you think.

Be Humble

There is that overconfidence that comes with seeing a large amount of money. The zeros that come after a number are endless and you think the possibilities will be too. However, this overconfidence is far more dangerous to your money managing than the risks you took to make it. Put in another way, a little humbleness is a good thing.

Having money does tend to make some people believe that they’re superior to everyone else and therefore they think they are immune to the ups and downs of everyday life that everyone else is going through. Humbleness will keep you in check because overconfidence can lead to misjudgement, disregard, or the ignoring of good ideas and advice.

Life does happen and it can come at you very fast. Think of tomorrow, think of what will happen when the money is gone and think about who you do or don’t offend when you have that money.

Having money does involve little more than being the big spender. Be humble.
