Ways to Use Your Unemployed Time Well

The most valuable resource right now is your time and chances are you are waiting for something or someone to occupy it.

While you are waiting here are some ways to use your unemployed time well

Work on Your Posts

It is possible that your profile or you posts contain some or all of these phrase; “Open to Opportunities” “Will Do Anything” “Unemployed” and “Job Seeking”. True as the phrases may be, they only accentuate your unemployment and attract like for like. Like for like means posts, comments, and the people that will come up on your feed will likely be in similar shoes.

To change this put more emphasis on the skills and the knowledge that you have and are gaining and less on the fact that you are unemployed or are between jobs. Be like a Hungry Lion cashier and up-sell yourself every time. Do it by posting about what you can do, where you can be found and when you are available.

Employers, the new ones most times because they are still growing companies usually scout for people on social media. They watch what you do, they look at what you post and pay attention to how you spend your time. While the older and experienced employers with established companies will advertise or use recruiters and pay more attention to how many years of experience you have and what your last job title was.

Both types of employer, however, look for someone that can bring knowledge and a skill to the table. So, change your day from one filled with just passing time to making use of time. How you use of your time will bode well for you in the future by filling up that space on your CV those others will probably leave blank.
