Common Mistakes Beginners Make

Being a beginner is hardly ever a pleasant experience and is always the point at which you will find that you will make like a lot of mistakes, like a zillion.

A few of the common mistakes most beginners make are

Not Putting in Any Practice

To avoid making mistakes always be practicing your trade or skill away from the organized atmosphere of the office or trading place. Don’t get lulled into the usual routine of working Monday to Friday and not doing anything away from the job.

Practice how to do things better in your job or business be it producing videos, taking photographs, writing content or simply learning how to use the relevant apps on your device. Do some of these things in your spare time and see where you can make your work easier or faster.

Keep your brain engaged by researching topics and instead of waiting for a problem to arise try to find out what problems could arise or search what problems others in the field have faced and learn how they solved them. Do not stop working on stuff just because you think you don’t have the time or mental energy.

Free time is good but, not using it in a useful way that will better your life and work is not good. Use the time to hone your craft so that you can do your job or business justice.

It’s only or I am only

Everything has a beginning but always starting with “I am only” or “It’s only” is a mistake. Many a time you put people off by belittling your achievements or the type of business you have by this opening. You want people to hire you or buy from you so, sell yourself or the product with some fanfare do not downplay you or the product.

Self-doubt is normal but the trick is to figure out how doubt is enabling your self-sabotage and then figure out ways to combat that. Fake it until you make it is about hyping yourself up and being your number one cheer leader. Your business is not only and you are not just…

Not Knowing When to Shelve a Project

It is a common move by beginners to think that if you start a project, you have to finish it. If you don’t commit to finishing it, then you must be a loser. Not only is this thinking wrong it is just silly. You can start something and midway through abandon it no matter how much you love it. This is because you do not want to end up with having to work daily for something that doesn’t seem to want to be made or sold.

It may be very painful to consider throwing the entire thing into the bin or selling it at a considerable loss but, abandon it you must. Remember you still have the general idea or vision and are just abandoning what is not working to get you there.

Following your dreams is seldom a now-or-never task and no one should make you feel ashamed if you abandon a project or throw work into a bottom drawer until you are ready to keep going with it.
