Here is Some Help for Social Media

Social media can be very daunting when you want to use it for more than just following, watching and have a laugh at other people’s antics.

It can be a very different experience when you want to it use for spreading awareness about your business, especially if it is small.

Some of the reasons you may find it a different and difficult experience are because you are

Inconsistent

One thing about social media and its way of doing things, it loves consistency.  To build a following and a reasonably large audience on social media you need a consistent stream of content. If you stop posting or are inconsistent, people will lose interest and the algorithm will forget you.

So train yourself to post content related to your business or that of your followers once, twice thrice a day and at least once a week, to be remembered. Also, keep in mind that you should focus on their needs and not what you think they need.

Focusing on their needs means following them back and watching what content resonates with them. Then have a regular posting schedule and stick to it, consistently.

Do Not Engage

Posting is not a magic bullet, you must engage. That content once posted should be monitored so make sure you check in often so that if there are any comments or questions you can respond to them. Also, this will give you an idea of what your audience finds to be content worth them engaging with.

You really need to be active and engage with your audience by responding to the comments, asking the questions to clarify anything they say or what you think they have misunderstood or need to know that will help them. Engaging and responding will help you steadily build follower numbers and build relationships.

Relationships do grow and some off line that may develop into business collaborations with people that shares a similar audience but do doing something totally different from you. These collaborations can also turn out to be ones that will also provide you with some new, fun and useful content for both your audiences.

Are On One Platform

One social media platform is a lot of work but, 2, 3 or 4 that sounds like a nightmare but if you want to promote your business content, you need to use more than one social media platform. Take some time to identify the platforms where your target audience is and once you identify the platforms where your target audience is most active use them effectively.

You do not always have to join these platforms but it advisable that you do. If you do not want to join, you can approach someone who is on the platform you would like your service or product to be featured on. To get the most traction use someone “influential” on them. This means you might have to pay for this service in either by offering a complimentary service, product or paying an agreed fee.
